The presents you really remember as a kid
Feeling a bit nostalgic and have some time on my hands.

A GI Joe base.

My half-brother who was a poor uni student at the time made me the ice planet Hoth from Star Wars out of styrofoam

My BMX bike.

The dual suspension bike I got when I was about 12/13 was the absolute nuts.

My favourite is the baking a nice couple from the church did for me as I was less fortunate.

They came in bringing the smell of the cold with them.

Lovely times.

Scaletrix Le Mans 24 Hours. Has the gold and silver Porsche that had lights.

Bought from Cavaliers on Green Street (where Peacocks is now I think) which was opened by Sir Trev by the way.

My dad loved aeroplanes and trains. Everyone of his family bought me aeroplane kits. Which he would love making up for a few weeks. Then he decided I had to have a Hornsby train set which was expensive so that took 3 years of birthday and Christmas presents.
One year a friend of my mums family bought me a cowboy gun and holster. Stands out as its the only thing I got that wasn't a kit to be made up.

That's the one.

A friend sold me the track he had and I ended up making a mega-track.

Good times.

A pontoon, little boats, some tanks, green soldiers, grey soldiers.

The pontoon was only three pieced, but had more intricate connecting pieces, than were really necessary.

20 minutes setting up the battle, everyone in position, the action lasted considerably quicker than I'd planned, when my little sister jumped off the settee, right onto the pontoon itself, smashing it into dozens of little pieces.

It was fun while it lasted.

Thinking back one if the best presents was a second hand bike, I pestered mum and dad for years for a bike which we couldn't afford, so FairPlay to them for doing something.

Probably sounds a bit pikey but I couldn't give a fuck ;)
